The Work Number

USDA employees can use the Equifax "The Work Number" service to provide employment verification. This service provides employment and salary verification information automatically to credentialed verifiers with a permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

A credentialed verifier is a bank, lender, landlord, or other person or organization that has a need to verify your employment information.

To use "The Work Number" you must have a Work Number account. To get started, please visit Equifax's "The Work Number" page and log in. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one by visiting the Equifax's "The Work Number" page and selecting the Log In button. Next, you will need to select the link to register an account.

Note: As of 10/23/25 - All users, including those previously registered on the old site, must register a new account before logging in.
