What is Dispute Resolution?

Dispute Resolution provides an opportunity for individuals in conflict to seek third party assistance at the earliest sign of disagreement.  Internal conciliators will assist with resolution.

The conciliators selected will be neutral, assure confidentiality, and have no vested interest in the solution. The conflict partners will craft the solution.  Conciliators will offer options and assist in providing an atmosphere conducive to open communication.

What is a conciliator?

A conciliator intervenes between two parties to resolve differences. A conciliator assists with conflict resolution by seeking to develop mutual agreement between the parties in conflict.

Benefits of Dispute Resolution

The DR program does not replace traditional avenues for resolution such as the EEO complaints system, the negotiated grievance procedure, and the Agency administrative grievance process. Rather, the program serves to prevent and/or resolve conflict at its earliest stages.

For assistance in arranging dispute resolution, contact a Dispute Resolution Specialist by emailing SM.OCFO.CRCMO@usda.gov.

All inquiries regarding the program are welcome.
