Continuing Professional Education Credits

The Financial Management & Payroll Summit is an opportunity to learn from leaders and subject matter experts from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer’s Financial Management Services and National Finance Center. Attendees can earn continuing professional education credits (CPEs) through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Information related to credits and pre-requisites for each session will be provided in the registration portal.

The class will provide guidance on the proper use of BOCs by outlining the relationship between BOCs and OMB's Circular A-11 object classes.

This course will cover the process of requesting access to the various FMS financial systems (FMMI, CPAIS, FSDW, ACRWS, MINC, and RITA). We will also discuss how to get help with access issues in FMMI and the other CMS systems.  Finally, we will cover the planned Business Role Managment system that will be rolling out in FY 2024.

This presentation provides an overview of internal controls as governed by laws and regulations; an overview of the remediation of Government Accountability Office and Office of the Inspector General; and the required reporting of such in the annual Agency Financial Report.

An overview of the debt management process presented by one of NFC's top subject matter experts. This session informs the attendees of how debts are established, the notices that are issued, the various payment options available, the cancellation and waiver process, and what occurs when a debt is deemed delinquent. During the session, several knowledge checks will be presented, as well as scenario-based explanations of the billing process.

This session provides an opportunity to preview prototypes of the upcoming Human Resources Quality Service Management Office (QSMO) Marketplace. Join OPM representative to learn how the Marketplace will be used and how it provides value to Agencies, Shared Service Providers (SSPs), and other stakeholders. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the initiative.

This two-part session will address Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB), and Military Deposits and Retirement processing. In FEHB our subject matter expert will address some of the common FEHB and BENEFEDS enrollment issues that NFC receives from our customer Agencies.

The OPM Data Strategy: Learn about the analytic products and digital services that OPM is building and aiming to make available to the community. The presentation will discuss the data flows that are crucial to enabling those products and services to work and come to life. Additionally, an overview of the roles and responsibilities that exist at all levels (Agency, SSP, OPM) to bring this all together will be discussed.

In the conclusion to the Hire to Retire series learn about important topics such as cancelled payment reports, payment certification, and post payment processing. Additionally, this session will discuss W2 processing and ways you can save your Agency money, safeguard important sensitive information, and access your W2 information electronically. The NFC TSP Liaison will discuss several topics and issues that are TSP related from hire to retire.

OCFO is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website.
