TAXES 19-31, Aurora, Colorado Withholding of Employee Occupational Privilege Tax

Summary

The city of Aurora, Colorado, imposes an Occupational Privilege Tax (OPT) on individuals who work within the city limits. Employees who earn at least $250 per calendar month while performing services within the city of Aurora are required to pay the employee OPT at the rate $2 per month.

No action on the part of the employee or the personnel office is necessary.

Tax Formula

OPT Deductions

$1 per Pay Period will be withheld for employees whose Duty Station State code is 08 with the city code 0110 and who earn at least $250 per calendar month.

Note: Employees who separate in the first Pay Period of the month, or accession is in the 2nd or 3rd pay period of the month, will have $2 withheld for the Pay Period.
