TA 22-04, Remote Work Transaction Descriptor

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has provided an update to the 2021 Guide to Telework and Remote Work in the Federal Government. As a result, the National Finance Center (NFC) has created a new Transaction Descriptor (TD) 39, Remote Work, which can be utilized by all Agencies that have designated positions as remote.
System Impact Status
System for Time and Attendance Reporting (STAR)
Has been modified to allow for the recording of Remote Work using TD 39.
webTA 4.2 and 5.0
Will be modified to allow for the recording of Remote Work using TD 39.
The following NFC-hosted time and attendance (T&A) applications have been modified to allow for the recording of Remote Work using TD 39:

- webTA 5.0
Agencies with their own T&A front-end applications must make the necessary modifications and/or coordinate with their vendors to be able to utilize TD 39 to allow for the recording of Remote Work.
Agencies will determine an employee's Remote Work designation.
The Time and Attendance Instructions procedure which is available online at the NFC Web site, is being updated to include the information in this bulletin. To view these procedures, selectfrom the drop-down menu on the NFC Home page. At the page, select the tab and select the applicable category to access the procedure manual within the category.
