HRPAY 17-06, New Edit To Place FERS Employees in the Correct RAE or FRAE Category

Summary

In order to avoid new employees being placed in the wrong retirement category rather than in the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) Revised Annuity Employee (RAE) or FERS Further Revised Annuity Employees (FRAE) retirement category, a warning message will now appear after selecting the retirement plan for new employees.

After completing the Retirement Plan field on the Hire Employee page - Benefit Data tab, a popup appears asking users to ensure that the employee is being placed in the correct retirement plan.

After completing the Retirement Plan field on the 100 Career Appt New Document page - Benefits tab, a popup appears asking users to ensure that the employee is being placed in the correct retirement plan.

Resources

The procedure manuals for these applications, which are available online at the National Finance Center (NFC) Web site, are being updated to include the information in this bulletin. To view these procedures, select HR and Payroll Clients from the MyNFC drop-down menu on the NFC homepage. At the HR and Payroll Clients page, select the Publications tab from there select the applicable category to access the procedure manuals within the category.
