FMS Release Information

Scheduled Release Information is provided to support the Financial Management Services’ (FMS) release management process and agency change management planning. This strategy is designed to keep customers informed of upcoming system enhancements and the projected implementation schedule. It also provides agencies with an opportunity to ask questions related to proposed changes and to request involvement in Quality Assurance (QA) testing when appropriate. The information is presented in a table format, segregated by product or system, and includes Change Request (CR) numbers, brief descriptions, and identification of the Requesters. Release schedules are updated as soon as CRs are approved for development; therefore agencies are encouraged to review the tables frequently.

The FMS Release Calendar by Product provides agencies with the scheduled release calendar for all products/system.

The FMS Release Schedule is presented as an Excel workbook that includes tabs by month. The tables on each tab are organized by Product or System and include CR numbers, brief change descriptions, and identification of the Requesters. It is updated on a regular basis to ensure that agencies have the most current schedule information.

FMS Detailed Release Information is provided to make sure agencies are aware of immediately pending changes. A notification with a link to the FMS Detailed Release Information table is provided on the Monday preceding a scheduled release. A second notification for each planned release, also with a link, is sent on the Friday of the implementation allowing agencies an opportunity to review the final release plan, which includes changes that have been made to the release information.

FMS Release Results are published for scheduled releases on the Monday immediately following the scheduled release date to inform agencies of which CRs were successfully moved to production and of CRs that may have been cancelled. Agencies will receive notification of the implementation results with a link to the FMS Release Results table.

FMS Emergency Release Result notifications are published to the FMS Release Results page and provided to agencies as needed. These releases include emergency, as well as and other CRs that were moved to production to correct issues or support various operational needs affecting users.

Release results are moved to the FMS Release Results Archive annually.

At any time, the CR details can be reviewed in ServiceNow. Agencies are urged to review the FMS Release Schedule on a regular basis and are invited to contact their Customer Account Managers (CAMs) for additional information related to scheduled releases, individual CRs, and/or to arrange for participation in QA testing when appropriate.
