Benefits Table

Eligibility is based on the Total Family Income from the Federal Tax Return Form 1040 and the child care cost charged by your Child Care Provider using the Benefits Table below. Each Employee/Family who has been approved for a CBP Child Care Subsidy Benefit will be responsible for paying the Family portion of their child care costs with the USDA Child Care Administration Program paying on behalf of the CBP, the difference directly to the Child Care.

The amount of CBP Child Care Subsidy paid on behalf of an Employee shall not exceed $5,000 per calendar year based upon the table below.   Please note that the Percentage of Child Care Cost Paid by CBP may be reduced if the calculated annual benefit would exceed $5,000. The amount of CBP Child Care Subsidy benefits paid on an Employee’s behalf will be included on their W-2.

Example of Child Care Subsidy Benefit Calculation where the Employee Portion is Increased due to the Maximum Annual Benefit Cap of $5,000

Total Family Adjusted Gross Income: $75,432.00
Calculated Percentage of Child Care Cost Paid by the CBP: 30%

Authorized Calculation of Benefits

Total Monthly Child Care Cost for Child B: $1,500.00
Total Monthly Family Portion of Child Care Costs: $1,083.34 (Adjusted due to maximum benefit)
Total Monthly CBP Child Care Subsidy Benefit: $416.66 ($416.66 X 12 = $5,000 – Adjusted due to maximum benefit. Standard calculation of 30% of Child Care Cost paid based upon Employee’s income would have exceeded the annual maximum benefit {$1,500 X 30% = $450.00 X 12 months = $5,400}; therefore the CBP CCS Benefit is reduced and the Employee portion is increased)
